CRCR's stunning tribute to Juice WRLD

Despite his tragic passing in 2019 at the age of 21, rapper Juice WRLD has remained a powerful presence in the music world, thanks to a series of posthumous releases.

For the launch of his third such endeavour, The Party Never Ends, the artist’s likeness took centre stage in a virtual concert within Fortnite. Joined by Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Ice Spice, the event culminated in the premiere of a promotional film for Empty Out Your Pockets, commissioned by Epic Games.

This tribute, crafted as a heartfelt ode to Juice WRLD and his devoted fans - many of whom are cited as Fortnite players - was brought to life by Wizz directors CRCR - creating a stunning virtual world filled to the brim with nods to music, gaming culture, and the defining moments of his life.

In a LinkedIn post, Creative Director Monica Philpott reflected on the project: “The single most important creative guiding light for this music video was that it be a love letter to Juice WRLD and his fans. Every scene, every reference, every detail was a celebration of his life and the things he cherished, including video games. To show that he was loved. To tell his story, not ours.”
