While the fragrance generated by a 1000+ bunch of bopping, gasping young’uns in an enclosed space might not immediately suggest olfactory awesomeness, hats off to agency Jung von Matt DONAU for this innovative initiative.
As part of a push to help chemistry shed its stuffy white labcoat vibes, this curious project for FCIO has led to the production of the world’s first scent made with CO₂ generated by an audience at a live music event.
Boasting scintillating black-and-white photography, the campaign film was directed by Simon Rajchl and captures the excitement and droplet-rich atmos of a gig featuring Viennese genre-splicing indie/pop/rap artist Bibiza.
The new fragrance – Donauwasser, or Danube Water, after Bibiza’s song Donau – was made using carbon capture and tech that extracted CO₂ from the air at Bibiza's performance at Austria’s Posthof Linz earlier this month.
