Production company Institute welcomes directors Lucy Knox and Owen Kasparian to its roster for US commercial representation.
Knox’s work evokes youthful energy and cinematic sophistication across branded, narrative and documentary film. Kasparian’s intimate, performance-driven work showcases meticulous visual style across brand campaigns, music video and short film projects.
Institute co-founder and creative director Lauren Greenfield discovered Knox’s talent via her Gold win at the Young Director Awards in Cannes for the documentary short, Opal Fever. “What stood out when I saw Lucy's film at the YDA was her gift for turning naturalistic performances and documentary environments into compositions that could have jumped out of a fine art photograph,” said Greenfield. “Her visual sensibility serves a poignant narrative and reveals a deep connection with her subjects. The mise-en-scène almost feels like fiction, but these are actual moments in the lives of real people.”
Director Kasparian’s recent campaign for menswear brand Moss celebrates the joys of summer. "Owen's work shows a natural talent for cinematic filmmaking and storytelling, classic filmic language with modern focus and evolution." said Tori Palmatier, Managing Director at Institute. "There is a level of sophistication to his otherwise youthful and fun visual narratives. A look and feel that is hard to come by for any director, let alone one so early in their career. We are thrilled to be working with him.
