If Wes Anderson did hotels, they'd probably operate a lot like the Hotel Almhof Schneider; an iconic family-run retreat nestled deep within the Austrian mountains.

Capturing the property's unique spirit and the people who bring it to life, Life at the Almhof is a delightful campaign from creative agency CantSee that emphasises the quiet beauty of the staff's daily routines.

Shot by Drool director Jasper Cable-Alexander through 42 Branded, the films pair a documentary feel with a sublime slice of surreality, making for a snapshot of somewhere truly unique.

“It was never about selling the hotel,” explains Cable-Alexander. “It was about celebrating the people who make it what it is.

“I wanted to create a love letter to the people who bring the hotel to life. The glass polisher, for instance, a huge, muscled guy who’s into kickboxing but spends his day delicately polishing the thinnest glasses. It’s this surreal poetry of everyday life that fascinated me.”

For CantSee, the challenge was to translate Almhof's ethos into something emotionally resonant and true. “We wanted to show what makes this place so special, not the luxury, but the people,” adds producer Ash Horne. “After working there, I’m never staying anywhere else.”
