Kode signs Brody Salmon
Kode welcomes Salmon to its director roster, following their recent collaboration on a new campaign for Netflix starring darts sensation Luke Littler.
Kode has announced the signing of rising British director Brody Salmon, whose distinctive blend of social realism, contemporary culture and character-driven storytelling has seen him establish himself as an exciting emerging voice in commercial filmmaking.
Hailing from the mill towns of Lancashire, Salmon’s filmmaking journey began in the worlds of skateboarding and rave culture, where he developed an instinctive approach to capturing people, places and the energy of the world around him. Those early influences continue to shape his work today, informing a visual style that balances authenticity with bold, playful filmmaking.
With a natural eye for casting, performance and the unexpected humour found in everyday life, Salmon has developed a distinctive directorial voice rooted in British culture and the communities that shaped him. His work combines the immediacy of documentary filmmaking with heightened visual storytelling, bringing a fresh perspective to campaigns for brands including Netflix, Adidas and Drama Call.
The signing follows Kode and Salmon’s recent collaboration on Netflix’s Beat Luke Littler, a character-led comedy promoting the streamer’s live darts event. Set in a quintessentially British social club, the film turns the traditional sporting underdog story on its head, imagining an eccentric cast of locals preparing to take on the world champion.
The project offers a glimpse into the kind of storytelling that makes Salmon such an exciting addition to Kode's roster.
Salmon comments: “Kode’s desire to capture story is so true and rawly intended, and this is just one of many values we both share. The Beat Luke Littler film we did for Netflix was, in many ways, the greatest test… an ensemble cast of first time actors, paired with an ambitious script that saw us transform a little working mens club in Oldham… there was a lot at stake there and, yet, I felt consistently at home. I’m over the moon to be joining their roster, as well as the wider Kode family.
Jack Goodwin, Founder & Executive Producer at Kode comments: “We’re buzzing to have Brody joining Kode. He’s already making exactly the kind of work we love, and what’s even more exciting is how much ambition and creative instinct he has at such an early stage in his career. He’s got a really clear point of view, and we can’t wait to see where we can take things together.”
