Magna Studios has signed acclaimed filmmakers and artists Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard to its roster for global commercial and branded representation, highlighting the studio’s expanding footprint as a dedicated home for visionary talent.

Forsyth & Pollard have built an international reputation for visceral, visually arresting storytelling. The duo first crossed over from the contemporary art world into global cinema with their BAFTA-nominated feature debut, 20,000 Days on Earth (starring Nick Cave), which took home two directing awards at the Sundance Film Festival.

The pair share a creative history with Magna, having directed the recent acclaimed feature documentary Broken English, exploring the life of iconic singer-songwriter Marianne Faithfull, produced in association with the studio. Beyond their documentary work, their multi-format portfolio includes high-profile music videos, moving-image art installations, and premium television drama. Notably, they directed the BAFTA award-winning BBC series Murder, alongside anthology series Likely Stories and The Dali & The Cooper, both for Sky Arts.

With Magna’s backing, the duo will continue to extend their craft across multiple mediums, joining a heavyweight roster of emerging and established voices that includes Mona Fastvold, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sebastian Strasser, James Marsh, Asif Kapadia, Hector Dockrill, Ariel Fisher, Oscar Hudson, Brady Corbet, Jeff Tremaine, Sam Pilling and Folkert Verdoorn.

Forsyth & Pollard commented: “Magna feels less like a partner and more like a creative home. We share an appetite for ambitious storytelling and true collaboration. From 20,000 Days on Earth to Broken English, our history with the team runs deep. We’re thrilled to have Magna in our corner, and couldn’t be more excited about what comes next.”

“Having known and tracked Iain & Jane’s remarkable trajectory over many years, it is clear they occupy a unique space in filmmaking, capturing human emotion with an intensity that is rare to find,” Davud Karbassioun, Co-CEO of Magna Studios, said. “Their ability to seamlessly blend diverse mediums directly reflects Magna’s commitment to building a roster that doesn't only respond to culture, but actively shapes it. They are absolute masters of their craft, and we’re looking forward to building on their story together.”
