The bouncing of Cupid's arrows off ubiquitous device screens makes for an elegant allegory in Zombie Studio's delightful animated short for The Fini Company.
Directed by Paulo Garcia, Fallin’ in Love tells the story of a young Cupid tasked with bringing together two strangers who pass each other every day on the subway. The problem: their phones are always getting in the way.
Key to the film's endearing charm is the animation technique employed, with 3D rendered characters having their actions and surroundings augmented by charming comic-book style effects.
“From the start, our goal was to approach this project with an entertainment-first mindset rather than traditional advertising," explains Garcia, "rooted in Fini’s brand values and core message. In that sense, the script was a gift - it allowed us to tell a story and spark reflection on today’s society in a light, uplifting way, without relying on product-centric messaging.
"I believe that’s the secret to this film and what makes it so special.”
