Production company Friend has announced the signing of filmmaker Tohé Commaret for UK representation.

Known for seamlessly merging documentary and fantasy, Commaret’s work captures raw emotion and sensory exploration, transforming natural landscapes into staged dreamscapes.

Her projects, ranging from short films to music videos, have been showcased in international festivals and galleries, earning accolades including the jury’s prize at the Montrouge Contemporary Art Fair, awarded by Mac Val, the Palais de Tokyo, and Lafayette Anticipations.

2024 marked a strong finish for the French-Chilean director, with a standout promo for Paris-born Egyptian-Iranian artist Kukii and a selection for the 75th Berlinale with her short film Because of (U).

Commaret has already started 2025 with momentum, directing a music video for Swedish rapper Bladee and Oklou and preparing a show for the Foundation Pernod Ricard, set to open on 17 February.

Luke Jacobs, Managing Director of Friend, commented: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Tohé to the Friend roster. Her unique ability to blend the real and the fantastical aligns perfectly with the bold, innovative projects we’re passionate about.

"We can’t wait to support her as she continues to push creative boundaries.”
