When rain starts falling on an F1 track at 200+ mph, a split-second pit call isn't luck. It's decades of hard-earned wisdom pulled into action at the precise moment that knowledge is needed most.

For Atlassian Williams F1 Team, that’s the collective memory Atlassian helps unlock, acting as the engine that turns Williams' championship legacy into a competitive advantage on track.

Atlassian explores that collective team memory in the lead film for its latest campaign. Alongside its production partners (Barcelona-based directing duo StillKidz and creative studio Strike Anywhere), Atlassian brings viewers inside a stylised reimagining of the pivotal moments when rain enters an F1 race. Set in a darkened liminal space where knowledge passes between team members in the form of spotlights, the film follows Williams as the team races to adapt strategies before the first raindrop arrives from cloud to Earth. Long-time fans of the English race team are also treated to cameos by some of the most iconic cars and faces from its championship past.

As the Official Title and Technology Partner for Williams, Atlassian takes the campaign a step further by turning five members of the Williams race team into AI agents designed to help all teams. By capturing the actual craft of real drivers, performance engineers, strategists and mechanics, the agent pack enables any team to tap into the secrets of precision F1 teamwork. To announce its new offering, Atlassian created a mini-docuseries profiling the Williams team members whose skills and performance data inspired the designs.

“To produce this caliber of creative at every touchpoint, from brand films down to in-product innovations that benefit our customers, took a massive showing of ambition, energy, and craft from our in-house teams and production partners,” added Atlassian ECD Luke Martin. “This project was an amazing opportunity to showcase the depth of Atlassian’s unique technology partnership with Williams. Our world runs on teams, teams run on context, and Atlassian connects the two.”

In a separate race against time, the production team maximised a limited shoot window by dividing efforts between a sound stage in Barcelona (during the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix) and Williams HQ in Grove, Oxfordshire. The campaign was shot on various film stock cameras (including digicam and 16mm) and features a combination of practical and 3D recreations of trackside elements and car rigs.
