Rising star Duncan Lewis has chosen Outsider as his home, his first foray into directorial representation.

Describing himself as a “culturally-concussed kid” Lewis grew up in London under a British father and an out-spoken Brazilian mother. This upbringing helped shape his perspective in life and his approach to filmmaking with his work immersed in London life and everything that comes with it.

As a hopelessly optimistic (but nonetheless realistic) Spurs fan, Lewis has applied his love for the beautiful game into his work, having directed spots starring the likes of Kobbie Mainoo, Virgil Van Dijk and the man of the hour, our godsend of the world cup, Jude Bellingham. Lewis’ down to earth character and irrepressible appetite to make great work has propelled his career and helped shape his exciting trajectory with work for EA, Nike, Meta, Barbour, Motorola, Gatorade and Pepsi.

His work is grounded in city life with plenty of flair running through it, perfectly blending technique, storytelling and emotion and feeling in equal measure. Lewis' growth very much embodies the changing film and advertising landscape with his look and feel fitting so seamlessly into the socials and online world. Better still, Lewis has worked with a handful of influencers like Vuj, Kwollem and Jordan Haimes.

Otis Denison, Executive Producer, at Outsider is thrilled with the signing: “You meet Duncan and you see why he’s been so busy and why he’s worked with the brands that he has. He speaks from the heart and is proud of his background and how it’s shaped his perspective in life and film. He has so much passion, charisma and ambition to match his talent. You put Duncan in the room with the right people and half of the leg work is done, he’s already saying and doing all the right things before they’ve even seen his exciting body of work. The industry is changing so having an arsenal of agile and hungry talent who can work as confidently across socials as they can traditional TVC is gold dust. We’re just pinching ourselves than Duncan has trusted us to take him to the next level.”

In response, Lewis had this to say about joining Outsider: “I'm stoked to be signing with Outsider, I've been patiently waiting for the right home and when I met Joe and Otis, I knew pretty quickly this is where I wanted to be. They understood me as a director who champions realism as well more stylised approaches, and after hearing Otis talk about his vision for Outsider, it was a no brainer. They've got a clear approach as our industry is in a state of rapid change while also sharing my want to create films that are creatively testing and satisfying, to be able to start this new chapter with them is a privilege. I can't wait to get the ball rolling properly."
