Creative studio Jelly announces the worldwide representation of Calgary-based artist Cristian Mera, marking his first commercial agency signing.

Born in Ecuador and raised in Calgary, Mera has built a distinctive visual language defined by bold collage work, saturated color, and an "analogue" texture achieved entirely through digital tools. His work balances humour, curiosity and surrealism with a reactionary, culturally-tuned style.

Larisa Kline, Creative Agent, Jelly, commented: “There is a timeless energy that Cristian brings to his work which got our illustration department excited to meet him. His image curation is smart and distinct from other collage artists. His understanding of movement, type, and proportions, and how those three pieces intersect, feels fresh, bold, and new."

Mera's recent work reflects both the cultural and commercial reach of his practice. For Adobe, he created large-scale, multi-format artwork for a city-wide campaign at the 2026 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, working with the Brand Expression team on themes of AI, creativity, and digital expression. For WIRED's FIFA World Cup 2026 digital package, he illustrated the technology and culture surrounding the tournament, from AI and surveillance to the systems reshaping how fans experience the game. For The American Prospect's February 2026 issue, his editorial illustration ran across the cover and thirteen interior pages, bringing his visual voice to a deep investigation into the politics and economics of modern sports. Further collaborations with Coast Contra, Black House Radio, and Semantics Cafe round out a practice that moves fluidly between music, culture, and emerging brands.

Working primarily in digital media, Mera develops characterisation through rich visual detail, drawing inspiration from music, internet culture, sport, and his own Latino heritage. His style is both curated and grunge, fusing precision and chaos into work that scales seamlessly from a single image to a global campaign with true identity.

Mera added: “What stood out about Jelly wasn't just the work they produce, but how they champion the people behind it. They understand that an artist's individuality is their greatest strength, and I'm excited to grow with a team that's committed to protecting that while helping it reach further.”
