Directing duo Hoffman & Metoyer is Will Hoffman and Julius Metoyer III.
They make films, mostly about people, mostly short. They've been working together for fifteen years. They started at Radiolab, making short films for a radio show. The films were about small things, a glance, a pattern, a moment most people wouldn't think to look at twice. Some of them found an audience. The Guggenheim showed them. Schools used them.
Brands eventually called: Apple, Coca-Cola, Dove, Ford, KitchenAid. In 2018 the DGA nominated them for commercial directing. Dove's Camera Shy won a Gold Lion. Their short Where I End And You Begin went to Tribeca.
They believe most things, looked at long enough, have a kind of beauty hiding in them. The work, if t works, is an invitation to see it too.
