Director Marie Schuller helms this catchy, offbeat seasonal spot for American upmarket department store chain Nordstrom, created by Invisible Dynamics through RSA Films Photo & Art.
The spot opens with a familiar scene: a family opening presents to the twinkling notes of Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from The Nutcracker. The atmosphere is dull and subdued, until the record is swapped for a not-so-Christmassy, but nevertheless iconic, David Bowie tune, Let’s Dance.
Two children, wearing oversized business attire, announce their final present to their family and burst into a tightly rehearsed dance routine complete with confetti and flips, lifting the energy in the room and getting the whole family up on their feet.
