This year as part of Denmark’s annual cancer fundraising campaign, TV 2 has gathered together 15 of the country’s biggest artists to create a fundraising track for Fight Cancer, Denmark’s annual cancer fundraising campaign.
Created by TV 2/Odense, with a hero film directed by Martin Werner through Bacon, the initiative turns the traditional charity single on its head.
Titled Alle Kender Nogen (Everyone Knows Someone), the song is partially available on Spotify and YouTube but the catch is on Spotify listeners hear just three minutes and 30 seconds of analog crackling, while on YouTube, they see the artists performing, but hear nothing.
The silence is the point. To hear the full song and watch the video with sound, people must first donate any amount they choose to Fight Cancer.
The hero film is voiced by renowned Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen, who delivers the idea in one line: “A charity song only works when you give to charity.”
