In perhaps the oddest tourism video ever created, Wieden+Kennedy, Grammy/Oscar-winning songwriter Bret McKenzie (one half of Flight Of The Conchords), Biscuit Filmworks director Andreas Nilsson and a team of CG artists from around the world invite you to Convergence Station.
Made from a combination of vintage travel films and specially shot footage, the film, for globally-recognized arts and entertainment company Meow Wolf, known for their immersive, multimedia and other-worldly experiences, sees increasingly surreal imagery and scenarios play out over a distinctly catchy tune from McKenzie.
Above: Some of the OOH marketing for the show.
The film is the latest piece in a surreal tourism campaign designed to prepare Denver for the exhibit’s launch that included cryptic billboards with headlines like "You've already been to Convergence Station" and a pop-up newsstand in Denver’s Union Station that offered souvenirs and light reading materials from around the multiverse, all of which could only be purchased with memories, the exclusive currency of the converged worlds.
We'll see you there... or then?
