If you’re a woman looking for equal pay, this comedic film directed by Lionel Goldstein through CZAR Brussels suggests that prison might actually be the perfect place to head.
Created by Mortierbrigade for progressive women’s movement ZIJkant, which has organised Equal Pay Day for the 22nd time, the fantastically deadpan campaign sees ordinary women going to absurd lengths to get themselves a taste of equal pay - even if that means getting locked up.
From stealing fish to taking credit for a bank robbery, a cast of wonderfully unhinged women pile into the back of a police van where they celebrate their incarceration, delighted that behind bars they’ll finally receive the same pay as men for their labour.
