Pity the poor voice-over artist. More often than not, they have to feign excitement from the dark corner of a soundproof booth.

Not so for Joe Bianco, the star of ESPN's joyful spot celebrating the return of NFL, shot by O Positive's Kenny Herzog with a creative idea through Arts & Letters Creative Co.

Following Bianco through a series of whip-smart gags, Ready for Football succeeds due to its wit and delivery, with jokes about Florida Man headlines and crowd noises hitting home.

“The upcoming NFL season isn’t just a return to football, it’s a return to all the things that go along with it: tailgating, fans in the stands, press conference drama, and everything else that surrounds the sport itself and makes it awesome,” said NJ Placentra, creative director at Arts & Letters.

“We knew a classic, pump-up voiceover-style spot wasn’t going to be enough this year. We had to raise the stakes. And we thought what better way to do that than by having the voiceover guy himself come to this realization and leave his voiceover booth on a journey across the country to personally get everyone ready for football.”
