Portentous music; po-faced models writhing around inexplicably in surreal locations, breathy meaningless vocals and bizarrely shaped bottles – all the tropes of poncy luxury perfume ads are here.
Created by Madrid agency PS21 (Jungle) and directed by Curro Urellana through Macaronosia, the campaign for Eau D’uardo promotes a scent inspired by the beloved fried chook recipe with ‘secret spices’ of pepper and bergamot along with notes of geranium and mandarin.
The film was shot in the Dunes of Maspalomas in Gran Canaria, and features such delights as a random mad-eyed horse and the droll chicken drumstick packaging, which references a KFC meme known as ‘Eduardo’ that went viral December 2020 and became a quirky Christmas tree ornament in Spain last year.
Eau D'uardo will be available to buy with any menu for €3.99 through the KFC app and in all KFC restaurants in Spain.
