Directed by Paul Geusebroek with Patta’s Creative Director Vincent van de Waal, the Nike + Patta campaign’s vibrant hero film opens with a striking shot of Netherlands team captain Virgil van Dijk draped in the Dutch flag, setting the tone for the recurrent reference to Surinamese-Dutch heritage.

This connection also runs through Patta’s history as Founders Edson Sabajo and Guillaume Schmidt are both of Surinamese descent. “The storytelling is based on a reinterpretation of Dutch culture. The Surinamese brass band could be seen and heard as the Patta drums of joy going into battle," commented Vincent van de Waal.

Produced by 100% the visually stunning spot is suffused with orange, referencing the X2 kit colours that signify not only the defining colour of Dutch football, but a hue associated with attitude and confidence.

The kit's designs are not simply decorative; they carry meaning, drawing from the symbolism of different heritages representing the coming together of many backgrounds. For example, the Surinamese Ala Kondre necklace – traditionally worn as a symbol of protection, identity and belonging – has been incorporated into the pre-match jersey and anthem jacket. Mixed with Dutch iconography, it celebrates the communities that have redefined Dutch football and reflect how strength is found in diversity.
