Created in house and directed by João Retorta, through Playground Productions, this amusing World Cup ad Por Amor à Camisola (For the Love of the Shirt) follows Portuguese fans showing their support for the national team Seleção by brandishing its kit around the country.
Framed through the lens of a live news broadcast, the film also references a famous moment from Portuguese TV back in 2007. Invited onto a CNN Portugal news show to discuss elections, politician – and former Prime Minister of Portugal – Pedro Santana Lopes flounced out of the interview after the presenter interrupted him to show live coverage of José Mourinho’s arrival in Lisbon.
