Sometimes people are born to do something particular, as this new spot for the US Navy shows, as we follow the reverse journey of one young man from serving aboard a nuclear submarine back through the years to childhood.
Created by VML New York and directed by Hoffman/Metoyer through MJZ, the 90-second film opens in dramatic fashion as our protagonist has to deal with an on board emergency.
We're then taken back through his life, to his graduation as a new Navy recruit where he's surrounded by proud family, back further to his time at university, to working low-level jobs, to school and beyond.
The film is accompanied by a pulsating, symphonic orchestral music and a voice over explaining the journey we're witnessing, ending with the line, "There's smart, then there's nuke smart".
