An international team, comprising sound studio Antfood in Amsterdam and New York and Berlin-based design agency f°am Studio, bring the ordinary to life in a beautifully realised short film for MAXON.
Promoting its next-level design and animation software Cinema 4D, MAXON commissioned a showcase of the software’s advanced features and this masterpiece of sound and VFX is the result. Inspired by animism – the belief in a supernatural power within all material in universe, the film sees ordinary objects break free of physics and gleefully dance and morph into a ballet of colour, texture, form and sound.
Influencers: Making of
Antfood composed music and sounds that give the objects a voice and character that develops as they come to life. “Each scene has its own unique soundscape, and we approached every object as having a unique sonic soul,” says Pedro Botsaris, CD and managing partner at Antfood Amsterdam. “As the animation progresses, the soundscapes become more and more dense and rebellious.”
The f°am Studio collective say the film is about “drawing out the intrigue in the everyday and allowing it to humbly influence the world around us. For us, it’s a celebration of the creative process.”
